Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Transplant (Abdominal Transplants: Kidney, Pancreas, Liver, Intestinal/Multi-visceral)
- Shift: Weekend Days (Saturday and Sunday) plus one rotating weekday, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Schedule: 3x12s weekend days, call and holiday required
- Patient Population: Adult abdominal transplant patients only (Pediatric transplants not included)
- Locals: Indiana residents are not accepted for this role
- Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted if they have strong transplant experience
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of transplant nursing experience (hard stop)

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Demonstrated transplant nursing experience
Additional Notes
- Indiana RN’s are generally not allowed to work at this facility after 11/30/2024, except for Perioperative/OR RN’s and certain allied/ambulatory RN travelers (this role qualifies as Periop/OR RN).
- Candidates must provide 2-3 days of interview availability when submitting.
- Several facility-specific documents and orientation packets must be completed prior to start, including compliance checklists, confidentiality agreements, and self-study orientation tests.
- On-site fit testing and PAPR use are available with prior approval at select locations.
- Mandatory completion of facility-specific training modules may be required depending on the role.
This position is ideal for experienced transplant RNs seeking a travel contract with a focus on adult abdominal transplant care in a short-term acute care hospital setting.
