Interventional Radiology Technologist - Travel/Contract

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Support Neuro and Body Interventional Radiology procedures using single and biplane radiography units.
• Procedures include Y90, TIPs, chemoembolization, UFE, PAE, trauma, stroke interventions, carotid stent placement, drains, biopsies, lumbar punctures, kyphoplasty, line/port/filter placements, peripheral stents, AV fistula declot/stenting, and PE/DVT interventions.
• Work with fluoro (Siemens) and ultrasound (Phillips) equipment.
• Patient population includes adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics with all acuity levels.
• Facility is a Trauma 1 and Stroke Center performing both outpatient and inpatient procedures.
• Use McKesson PACS and Cerner Powerchart systems.
• Department includes 2 biplane rooms, 2 single plane rooms, and a dedicated ultrasound room. CT procedures are handled by CT techs.
• Call schedule: 1 weekend per month and 1-2 call days per week; 2 techs on call each shift (primary and secondary).
• Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM), 40 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology procedures.
• First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required).
• Current and valid Radiologic Technologist license (ARRT certification required).
• ACLS certification required for Interventional Radiology.
• BLS certification required.
• Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required.
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and international checks if applicable.
• State-specific background checks and registrations (Missouri FCSR or Caregiver search) required within 60 days of start.
• Verification of licensure and certifications within 60 days of start.
• Negative 7-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption.
  • Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive TB history.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity via titer or vaccination.
  • Varicella immunity via titer or vaccination.
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer required; declinations not accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (3M models specified); not required for some non-clinical roles.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Photo for badge required for new candidates.

Physical and Work Environment

• Position is physically active: requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
• Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses.
• Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
• Rotating shifts, holidays, and inclement weather work required.
• Must be able to work full shifts, take call, work assigned weekends, and at least 50% of holidays during the contract.

Documentation and Compliance

• Resume must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days.
• Two professional references from the last 2 years required.
• Completion of facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreements, new hire packets, and employment eligibility verification within 60 days of start.
• Compliance with all required competency exams and orientation safety acknowledgments.
