Registered Nurse - Endoscopy (Travel/Contract)

Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4x8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM), 32 hours per week
  • Average daily census: 25 patients
  • Rooms: 3
  • Call: No more than every 4th weekend and one weeknight per week
  • No float or weekend requirements
  • Unit procedures include: EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS
  • Unit systems: Omnicell (medication), Epic (documentation and communication)
  • Orientation: 40 hours
  • Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
  • Certifications:
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA provider only
    • BCLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider only
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider only
  • Skills: Telemetry, Circulation
  • Valid RN license for New Hampshire (copy required)
  • Two current professional references within the last 3 years, including one from a supervisor or charge RN
  • Must complete a background check within 30 days of start, including:
    • Social Security Verification
    • National Sex Offender Registry Search
    • National Criminal Search
    • FACIS L3
    • Education Verification
    • Criminal county/state searches (excluding NH counties; NH State Police Search required instead)
    • Motor Vehicle Background Check (if applicable)
  • Drug screen: 10-panel within 14 days prior to start (no exceptions)
  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
  • Immunizations and health requirements:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (medical or religious exemptions require documentation and approval)
    • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 1 year or chest x-ray if prior positive TB
    • Flu vaccination required annually during flu season (Oct 31 - Apr 1) with exemption options
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination documentation (exemptions require medical documentation; religious exemptions not allowed for some)
  • Annual fit mask test required (N95 or equivalent masks)
  • RespSafety clearance questionnaire required prior to start
  • Pass/fail Basic Dysrhythmia EKG exam required onsite or via Relias depending on unit assignment
  • Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG required
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications preferred or required depending on unit
  • SSA release and state-specific background releases required (NH and MA if applicable)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Notes

  • Travelers located within 50 miles of the facility are accepted and will receive a rate adjustment
  • First-time travelers are accepted; prior travel experience is not required
  • Candidates who have ever been employed by the associated health system are not eligible
  • Passport-style photo required for badge
  • Proof of auto insurance required if driving to patient homes (Home Health/Hospice only)
  • Facility requires completion of various immunization waiver forms if applicable (flu, Hep B, Tdap)
  • Employment application, skills checklist, and internal evaluation (if applicable) are required
  • Background checks and certifications must be current and verifiable before start date
