Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Port St Lucie, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4 shifts of 10 hours each, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40

Job Summary

Seeking a Cath Lab Technician with experience in Cardiac Cath and at least two of the following modalities: Interventional Radiology, Vascular, or Neuro. Candidates must have this experience clearly reflected in their work history. The role includes floating within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities within a 20-mile radius.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Florida
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
• Recent Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• Experience in Interventional Radiology
• Experience in Vascular technology
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Work Requirements

• Call required on a case-by-case basis (no set schedule)
• Floating to all three nearby hospitals required
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Pending licenses not accepted
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 12-hour shifts, 40 hours for 8/10-hour shifts

Facility & Work Environment

• Short Term Acute Care facility
• 180 staffed beds
• Smoke-free facility: all travelers must be nicotine-free (negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine required)
• Charting system: EPIC
• Free parking in unrestricted spaces

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required on person during hours of service
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and fingerprinting (Florida AHCA Level II) required prior to start
• Physical exam within 6 months of start required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year required, updated annually
• Required immunizations/vaccinations or documented immunity:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (no Florida Medical Marijuana card accepted)
• Two professional references within 2 years required
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Completion of online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone)
• Time-sensitive modules must be prioritized and completed before starting assignment
• Facility-specific privacy policy, affidavit, and demographic information forms required

• Candidates must be aware of time-sensitive training modules that must be completed promptly once assigned
• Floating may include multiple facilities within a 20-mile radius
• Facility issues radiation badges to applicable candidates
• No smoking or nicotine use allowed at any time during assignment

This position is ideal for Cath Lab Technicians with strong cardiac cath and interventional radiology-related skills who are flexible to float and meet call requirements in a fast-paced acute care environment.
