Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse

Job Details

Unit: Medical-Surgical ICU
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
Charting System: Epic

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Valid Driver’s License or State ID
E-Verify compliance (for direct hires)
Background Checks:
- 7-year background check updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
- Education verification of highest level completed
Work History Verification: 7 years required

Health & Safety Requirements

Physical Exam within 12 months of start
Fit Test for approved masks within 1 year, renewed annually
Immunizations/Vaccine Requirements:

- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start

Additional Notes

Candidates residing in certain Texas counties (e.g., Henderson, Anderson, Smith, Gregg, and others) are not eligible for this travel assignment.
Orientation and training may require fingerprinting (specific to some states).
Core competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency tests may be required depending on the profession.
Annual renewal of core testing and certifications may be required.
