Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

  • Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM), Monday through Friday, plus on-call (minimum 125 hours/month)

  • Exposure to both inpatient and outpatient settings, including OR and interventional radiology units
  • Opportunity to perform a wide range of vascular, neurovascular, abdominal, and pelvic procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Ohio
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
  • Current ARRT Radiography (ARRT R) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Key Skills & Procedures

  • Interventional Radiology and Angiography
  • Vascular procedures: stents, angioplasty, thrombolysis, thrombectomy, dialysis graft interventions
  • Neurovascular procedures: carotid angiography, embolization, vertebroplasty, discogram
  • Abdominal and pelvic procedures: mesenteric angiogram, liver biopsy, gastrostomy tube placement, TIPS
  • Fluoroscopy and C-Arm operation
  • PACS system operation and maintenance
  • Chest tube placement, paracentesis, and thoracentesis

Equipment Familiarity

  • GE Innova IGS (preferred)
  • PACS systems

Additional Job Details

  • Floating to different units within the organization may be required
  • Work setting includes Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital environments

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific codes apply)
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Education accreditation verification required for nursing and related clinical programs
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and freedom from contagious disease
  • Immunizations and health documentation required:
    • Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions require documentation)
    • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
  • Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required

Competency and Testing Requirements

  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam prior to start
  • Unit-specific competency exams as required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%)

References and Documentation

  • Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
  • Employment application required, including education verification for nursing candidates
  • Skills checklist required

Shift Details

  • Day shift: 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM (4 days per week, 10 hours each)
  • On-call required with minimum 125 hours per month
