Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Bend, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Full labor and delivery experience required, including postpartum care.
- Must staff according to AWHONN staffing standards.
- Floating within scope required: includes CPO sitter duties and floating to a low-risk family birthing unit at a nearby campus.
- Weekend shifts required: minimum of every other weekend or 8 weekend shifts during the contract.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- Minimum 2 years of labor and delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Postpartum care experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- AWHONN Intermediate
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check required within 90 days of start; updated annually. Includes SSN trace, counties lived/worked/school, FACIS L3, DOJ sex offender search, nationwide checks, and education verification.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start.
- Diploma or transcript must be on file.
- Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification required.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test (QGold within 1 year) or chest X-ray for positive responders
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Positive titers or vaccinations for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Positive Hepatitis B titer (vaccine series alone not accepted)
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or agency-approved declination required during flu season.
- COVID vaccine preferred but not required; declination or exemption required if unvaccinated.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually.
Additional Requirements
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge within 48 hours of signing contract.
- Completion of facility-specific agreements and confidentiality forms within 48 hours of signing.
- Skills checklist required annually.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- No acceptance of pending licenses.
- Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions: 7 days.
