Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Gun Barrel City, Texas
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as applicable
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - as applicable
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification - as applicable (expires annually)

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online version accepted)
• Competency Exam (minimum passing score 80% or higher if Angoff score is higher)
• Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors; annual completion required)

Employment & Background Requirements

• Complete application/resume required
• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Employment history verification for 7 years
• Education verification (highest level) required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Photo for badge (clear headshot)
• Various internal accounting and verification documents (e.g., I9, Driver’s License/State ID, E-Verify)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• TB questionnaire within 90 days of start (annual if positive)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if titers negative/equivocal
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required; boosters if titers negative/equivocal
• Seasonal Flu vaccination or agency-approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or medical/religious exemption required (declinations not accepted)

Additional Notes

• Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this contract.
• Fingerprinting and other onboarding steps may apply depending on location.
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required.

This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses with prior travel experience who are comfortable working night shifts and meet the certification and health requirements listed above.
