Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
Location: Glen Burnie, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Start Date: 02/09/2026
Shift: Nights (20:00-08:30), 3x12 hours preferred, 4x12 hours accepted
Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays required as scheduled
Floating: Required within specialty and lower acuity units as needed
On-Call: Pre-scheduled on-call shifts not required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in MS/Tele nursing specialty
- First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
Licenses & Certifications Required
- Maryland RN State License
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, required for all acute care positions
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification - required for specific units, must be updated annually
Job Responsibilities & Expectations
- Work night shifts in MS/Tele unit
- Floating within specialty and sister units as needed
- Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
- Complete required competencies and training modules prior to start
- Participate in facility-specific orientation and training
Required Documentation & Compliance
- I9 or Attestation
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Background checks including 7-year criminal search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start including Latex Screen
- Fit test for respirator within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for units working with children)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella - positive titer or vaccination proof
- Hepatitis B - positive titer or declination (series not accepted)
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests NOT accepted)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID vaccination not required for this location, but documentation collected for tracking
Competency Exams (must be completed within 1 year of start)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing
- Competency Exam relevant to specialty
- Age Specific Competency Exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (exclusions apply)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo with solid white/beige background for badge
- Completion of learning modules prior to start (unpaid time)
- Completion of Pyxis Access Request Form after learning modules
- Signing of job description and confidentiality agreement prior to start
- Security ID application within 72 hours of signing contract
- Completion of portfolio Epic training test out form if applicable
References & History
- Two supervisory references within 1 year of start (Charge RNs, Supervisors, or Managers)
- Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
- Verification of previous 5 years of employment history (attestation accepted if necessary)
This position offers a structured travel nursing opportunity in a specialized MS/Tele unit with clear requirements for licensure, certifications, and compliance documentation. Night shift availability and flexibility for floating are essential. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
