Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery / Postpartum) - Bend, Oregon

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years full labor and delivery experience, including postpartum care
  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Minimum of every other weekend or 8 weekend shifts during the contract
  • Certifications Required:
    • ACLS (AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable)
    • AWHONN Intermediate
    • BLS (AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable)
    • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Skills: Must staff according to AWHONN Staffing Standards; able to work as break RN, resource RN
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs (including CPO sitter duties and floating to a low-risk family birthing unit at a northern campus)
  • Epic Experience: Preferred but not required
  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted
  • Locals: Not accepted (75-mile radius rule)
  • Pending License: Not accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: 7 days

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check (including SSN trace, counties lived/worked/school, FACIS L3, DOJ sex offender search, nationwide check, education verification) within 90 days of start; updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
  • Education verification and transcript/diploma on file
  • Primary source verification of state license
  • NURSYS verification for RN license
  • Medication and competency exams as applicable
  • Facility-specific documents (badge photo, confidentiality agreements, compliance attestations, emergency contact form) must be completed within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
    • Annual TB questionnaire
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (booster or declination acceptable for low/equivocal titers)
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer required (vaccine series alone not acceptable)
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (booster or declination acceptable)
  • Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (not required annually)
  • Seasonal vaccinations/documentation:
    • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season; masking required during high transmission
    • COVID vaccine preferred but not required; declination required if never vaccinated
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually
  • Annual skills checklist required

This position is ideal for experienced labor and delivery RNs who meet certification and compliance requirements and are comfortable with night shifts and weekend work. Floating within the facility system is expected.

Pros

Traveler friendly. Lots of staff. Busy LDRP but not insanely busy. Bend is a beautiful city with lots of things to do.
