Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Rehab RN) - South Bend, Indiana

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Rehab RN)

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday as needed
• Floating Requirement: Float to med/surg areas as needed
• Patient Ratios: 1:6 / 1:7 (Charge nurse takes patient)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for having patients bathed and ready for morning therapy.
• If rehab patients are not present, float to other areas as needed.

Experience Requirements

• Years of Specialty Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
• First-time travelers accepted if they have rehab or medical experience.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Licensing & Location Requirements

• Must have an active nursing license by the start date (pending licenses accepted if active by start).
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles away from the facility (locals not accepted).

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (refer to unit-specific job descriptions):

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
• State License verification required.
• Additional certifications as applicable per unit.

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check required within 90 days of start, covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked.
• Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required.
• Physical exam required.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (T-Spots not accepted).
• TB questionnaire required prior to start and annually.
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant accepted if needed for quick start).
• Flu vaccine required prior to start or approved medical/religious exemption.
• COVID vaccine exemption allowed with medical or religious documentation.

• Candidates must complete facility-specific modules (~8-10 hours) prior to start.
