Hospice Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• On-call hospice RN position covering multiple counties in Kentucky.
• Schedule is fully on-call with a guaranteed 40 hours per week, even if fewer hours are worked.
• Alternating on-call schedule over two weeks with overnight shifts (5 PM to 8 AM) on specified days.
• Patient ratio: 15-20 patients.
• Start date: ASAP.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Minimum 1 year of hospice nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• NRP certification
• TNCC certification
• Tech Cert Verification - National
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• State License 1 Verification
• NURSYS Verification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of identity (government-issued photo ID).
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, sex offender registry, and state-specific checks.
• E-Verify documentation.
• Drug screening (9-panel within last 12 months).
• Physical exam updated annually confirming ability to meet job demands.
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
• Clinical references (minimum 2).
• Performance evaluations if previously employed with the agency.
• Completion of competency exams and safety orientation as applicable.

• Time off restrictions: Prefer candidates who can commit to the full contract period without extended absences.
