Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 8 hours each (24 hours weekly)
Start Date: Targeted for April 20, 2026
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care for preparation and recovery of endoscopy patients.
  • Work primarily involves patient prep and recovery in an endoscopy setting.

Required Qualifications

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Licensure: Must hold a current North Carolina RN license or a Compact RN license
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only
  • Charting Experience: Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
  • Other Requirements:
    • Flu vaccination is mandatory; no exemptions or declinations accepted
    • Prior travel experience is required (first-time travelers not accepted)
    • Local candidates within 75 miles are eligible

Orientation & Training

  • Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training provided during orientation (valid for 2 years)
  • Unit-specific competency exams required

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days of start, including multi-county and nationwide searches
  • Employment and education verifications as applicable
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen (including THC) within 30 days of start
  • Health documents required within 12 months of start, including:
    • Physical exam
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
    • Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Polio
    • Seasonal flu vaccination (mandatory)
  • References: Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months, at least one supervisor

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must set up a guest account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems.
  • Candidates must complete all required online modules before orientation.
  • Competency checklists must be completed within 3 weeks after start date.
  • Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous assignments may have some document requirements waived.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with endoscopy skills who have prior travel contract experience and are ready to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with strict compliance and vaccination requirements.
