Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job in North Carolina (Greensboro)

Job Details

• Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: Every 3rd weekend and holidays as needed
• Float: Required; may float between multiple campuses as needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Unit: Inpatient rehabilitation with specialized care for patients with neurological diagnoses (e.g., CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, stroke, aneurysm, post-op surgical) and generalized debility

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Rehabilitation nursing experience
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Pass/Fail testing for EKG and medication administration
• Medication Administration Badge (MAB)

Job Responsibilities & Skills

• Interpretation of laboratory results
• Medication reconciliation
• Patient health history, allergies, vital signs (BP, respirations, temperature, pulse)
• Dressing changes and aseptic/sterile procedure setup
• Specimen collection and labeling (capillary, throat, urine clean catch, phlebotomy)
• Telephone triage and pharmacy refill requests
• Care for patients with neurological and rehabilitation needs

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card (for badge issuance)
• Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
• Transcript/Diploma as proof of highest education
• Physical exam (if applicable)
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
• Fingerprinting (if applicable for position) completed in North Carolina
• Completion of facility-specific forms including health history and floating policy acknowledgment
• Badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual attire)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and adhere to a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Must complete all compliance requirements by deadlines prior to start date
• Two supervisory references required from clinical assignments within the last 24 months
• Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required
• Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal

This position is ideal for experienced registered nurses with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working night shifts in a specialized inpatient rehabilitation setting with neurological patients. Flexibility and compliance with strict facility policies are essential.
