Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Unit: Medical Surgical & Med Surg Telemetry
• Shift: 4x12 hour day shifts
• Start Date: ASAP
• Patient Ratio: 1:7 (team nursing; additional support from PCC, LPN, etc.)
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed
• Block Scheduling: Not open to block schedules; weekend block may be considered (discuss during interview)
• Local candidates: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
• First-time travelers: Not accepted

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry nursing, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in a large hospital setting

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Licensure

• Tennessee RN license required or multistate license under NLC

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated annually
• Sex offender search required
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search required (TN only)
• Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
• Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year of start (must pass without limitations)

Additional Requirements

• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and competency exams must be current and updated annually
• Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, recent within 6 months)
• Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed prior to start
• Submission of requested documentation must be complete and timely to avoid delays

• Level I Trauma Center
• Team nursing model with support staff
