Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 18:30 - 07:00)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Provide respiratory care services in adult critical care and emergency department settings.
• Weekend coverage required: 4 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.
• Scrubs color: Royal blue.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Maryland.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience working with adult patients.
• Experience in an acute care setting.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function.
• Completion of I9/E-Verify attestation.
• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years.
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Education verification for highest degree required by position.
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required.
• Immunization documentation or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
• Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years preferred.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept-Mar).
• N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed).

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS certification recommended (review per unit requirements).
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 3 years, passing score 80% or higher.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually with specific scoring criteria (for applicable units).
• Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgment.
• Other certifications as required by unit description.

Experience & References

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in respiratory therapy.
• Adult critical care and emergency department experience required.
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information.
