Job Opportunity: Trauma ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Trauma ICU, with floating to all hospital areas including ICU, Transitional Care Unit (TCU), and Emergency Department (ED) for ICU and TCU holds.
- Every other weekend required; no on-call duties.
- Scrub color: Navy.
- Free parking available in campus garage.
- Scheduling flexibility: weekend blocks or 6 on/8 off schedule may be considered.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, with ICU experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county residency/work history, nationwide search, and sex offender search.
- Missouri-specific background checks and Family Care Safety Registry registration required prior to start.
- Negative drug screen within 12 months of start date.
- Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health.
- Fit mask testing (respirator fit test) to be completed onsite during first week of orientation; must be clean-shaven for fit test.
- TB testing: PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if prior positive PPD.
- Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- COVID vaccination series preferred but not mandatory.
- OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and training, including:
- Confidentiality and Security Agreement
- Standards of Ethical Conduct and Relevant Policies
- ICU/CCU AbioMed Impella Online Training (annual update required)
- Post-start orientation checklists to be completed during orientation.
Additional Notes
- Requests for time off must be submitted with application; additional requests after signing are at manager discretion.
- Candidates must provide a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance.
- References and skills checklist required per placement standards.
- Color vision testing not required for this role.
- No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are welcome.
