Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with Endoscopy specialty for a travel contract position. The role involves working primarily day shifts with a 4x10 schedule (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends. Call responsibilities are required on weekends approximately every 6-7 weeks and weeknights about once every two weeks.
Work Schedule & Responsibilities
- Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, days (7 AM - 5:30 PM), Monday - Friday, occasional weekends
- Call:
- Weekend call: 7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Monday (48 hours), about every 6-7 weekends
- Weeknight call: 5 PM - 7 AM, approximately 1 night every 2 weeks
- Holiday call coverage may be required (24-hour coverage)
- Floating: Must float to other Endoscopy Centers within the system
- Clinical Duties:
- Portable/bedside travel cases
- Pre/post procedure and inpatient care experience required
- Screening and therapeutic colonoscopy
- Upper endoscopy with BRAVO
- Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- Capsule Endoscopy
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum of 1 year of Endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Medication Administration Badge (MAB)
- Pass/fail competency testing for EKG and medication administration, with formal acknowledgement of testing
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in inpatient settings
- Experience with portable/bedside travel cases
- Pre- and post-procedure nursing experience
- Experience with screening and therapeutic colonoscopy
- Experience with upper endoscopy procedures including BRAVO
- Experience with Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- Experience with Capsule Endoscopy
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance & Onboarding
- Completion of health history form and other facility-specific documents required prior to clearance
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
- Facility-specific floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement forms must be reviewed and signed
- Candidates must complete onboarding tasks including multi-factor authentication setup for system access
- Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
Immunization & Health Requirements
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Proof of adult Tdap vaccine
- TB testing (Qgold/TSPOT) within 6 months of start
- Positive titer or vaccination series for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B titer or declination with booster series if needed
- Varicella immunity or vaccination series
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
- Fingerprinting required only if working in Home Health or Long-Term Care (not applicable here)
This position is ideal for experienced Endoscopy RNs comfortable with a fast-paced environment, call responsibilities, and floating between units. Strong clinical skills in endoscopic procedures and proficiency with EPIC are essential.
