Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse with skilled home care experience (private duty nursing experience alone is not accepted). The role involves providing skilled nursing care in patients' homes, including:

• OASIS training and experience required
• IV skills and wound care
• Care for general medical diagnoses and high-risk diagnoses such as heart failure, COPD, myocardial infarction, pneumonia, and stroke
• Post-operative care
• Cardiopulmonary assessment, basic wound care, ABI compression dressing, wound vac dressing, Pleurx/Aseptdrain care
• Foley catheter care and changes, staple/suture removal
• Use of glucometer, pro-time machine
• SQ/IM injections, lab draw venipuncture
• PICC line or Midline care and dressing changes
• SQ port access/deaccess
• Home skilled visits averaging 6-8 per day
• Flexible day/shift hours (various schedules Monday through Friday, some weekend shifts)
• Self-scheduling of visits and hours based on office needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (home health experience required)
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Florida
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable car for home visits
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required
• Flu vaccination or declination with mandatory mask wearing at work
• Skilled in IV therapy and wound care
• Experience with OASIS documentation and home health care standards

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
• Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification, Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam with a passing score
• Color Blind Testing (Relias) prior to start
• Competency exams relevant to home health nursing

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 1 year, including nationwide and sex offender searches
• Education verification and foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Physical exam within 6 months of start date
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 10 weeks of start (or chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive)
• Annual TB questionnaire completion required
• Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
• Standard 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Respirator medical clearance if respirator use is required
• References: 2 professional references from the past 2 years
• Employment application and skills checklist must be submitted

• Must complete required online training modules prior to start
• Home health insurance (personal or auto) must be current and active during assignment
