Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech Maternal Fetal

Location

  • Roanoke, Virginia

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (40 hours per week)
  • Weekend availability preferred
  • Must work one holiday per 13-week contract if the facility is open on holidays
  • No on-call requirement
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Certifications

  • ARDMS (OB/GYN)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Clinical Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience scanning in a High Risk OB department
  • Proficient in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester scanning
  • Skilled in amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, and nuchal translucency screening

Floating

  • May be required to float within scope of practice

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • I-9 or attestation
  • Driver’s License or State ID with an address more than 100 miles from the facility is not accepted
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • 7-year background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years (must be current within 1 year of start)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals/extensions
  • Education verification of highest earned degree
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming freedom from communicable diseases
  • Fit test within 1 year of start, updated annually (not required for students)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • TB questionnaire required for all candidates
  • Immunization or positive titer documentation for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Photo for badge (professional quality, plain background)
  • Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
  • Completion of contract staff orientation manual prior to start (acknowledgement required)

References and History

  • Two clinical references required (hospital evaluations accepted)
  • Complete application/resume required
  • Annual update of skills checklist required

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • No local radius rule applies (locals not accepted)
  • Must submit all requests with application (RTO)
  • HIPAA compliance and safety manual acknowledgement required
  • Must complete fit testing regardless of prior fit test status (except students)
  • Flu vaccination is not mandatory but those declining must mask during flu season and sign a declination form

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist within the last year
  • Experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography
  • Experience working with High Risk patients
  • ARDMS certification
  • BLS certification
