Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• 24/7 phlebotomy, RRT, and supervisor support available on all units
• 36/36 schedule
• Rotating weekends and holidays
• No call required
• Floating required
• Hybrid unit requiring previous Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Additional overtime shifts may be flexed as needed without penalty
• Expected to actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care

Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year
• Previous Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Schedule

• General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation required

Compliance and Documentation (Summary)

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification required
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check if licensed or working in Tennessee
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 14 days of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Respirator fit testing completed onsite
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date

Additional Notes

• Floating between units is required
• No prior travel experience explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted if they have Level 1 trauma experience
• Expected to support clinical education for nursing students in addition to patient care
• Orientation includes online components and is time-sensitive
• Hospital policies include dress code, smoking/tobacco use, contaminated sharps exposure, and respirator use guidelines
