Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Tele

Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Work on a busy Medical-Surgical/Telemetry floor.
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1845-0715).
• No on-call duties.
• May be required to float to other Med Surg/Tele units or low acuity ICU.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing within the last year.
• Current certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
• Physical exam within one year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
• N95 Fit Mask test within one year (no PAPR allowed).
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start.
• Required immunizations or titers:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer or series)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (no exemptions accepted)
  • COVID vaccination or approved exemption.
• Proof of 2 clinical references.
• Complete employment application/resume.
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty.

Additional Notes

• Must pass Epic test-out prior to or shortly after start date; only one attempt allowed.
• Floating to other units may be required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
