Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Bamberg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Approximately 36 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Caseload: 8-10 patients daily
• On-call: No
• Weekend Requirement: No
• Floating: No floating between service lines or sister facilities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, with experience within the last year
• Experience as an Echo Technician
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ARDMS certification required

Work Environment & Tools

• Charting System: Epic
• Radiation Badge: Not required for this position
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks:

  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Must include SSN Trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
  • Background check must be run within 90 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if verification pending
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references required; at least one from the same unit
• Employment History: Verification of last 3 clinical employers required
• Physical Exam: Must be completed within 90 days of start, updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands without restrictions
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen required within 90 days of start; no instant tests accepted
• Immunizations & Health Requirements:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form required
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start; if positive, additional documentation required
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titers or vaccination series required
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption accepted (no declinations)
  • COVID vaccines highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
• Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required via RespSafety virtual questionnaire
• Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with solid light background, frontal view only

Orientation & Facility Specifics

• Completion of orientation modules (approx. 2 hours) required prior to start
• First Day Instructions and OurDay modules must be completed before orientation; failure to complete results in being sent home
• Upload COVID and flu vaccination documentation into facility system (OurDay)
• Facility-specific job description and confidentiality/security agreements must be completed prior to start
• NetID form is time-sensitive and must be returned within 24-48 hours of contract signing to avoid delays

• No weekend or on-call shifts required
• No floating between units or sister facilities
