Job Description

Seeking experienced MS/Tele Registered Nurses for adult and geriatric patient care.

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts
• Shift times: 06:45-19:15 and 18:45-07:15
• Orientation: 12 hours (1 day scheduled based on availability)

Patient Ratio

• 1:5

Charting and Medication Systems

• EPIC (experience required)
• Pyxis medication system

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult and geriatric patients
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Skills

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization care
• IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
• Feeding tube care and management
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Pre/Post Hemodialysis management
• Accessing/managing ports
• Blood product administration
• Central and peripheral line care/management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Management and titration of cardiac drips
• Care for CVA (stroke) patients
• Substance withdrawal management
• Monitoring chemotherapy
• Ortho trauma and total joint replacement care
• Surgical drains and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen administration and tanks
• Tracheostomy care/management
• Isolation precautions and PPE use
• Wound care and wound vac management

Required Documentation & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check (including PA PATCH search)
• PA FBI fingerprinting (must be completed within 1 year of start; can start with results pending if on file within 45 days)
• Employment application and most recent resume
• 2 professional references within 3 years
• Education verification (highest level)
• Various health documents including:

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start
  • Immunizations and titers: Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Flu vaccine (seasonal), COVID-19 vaccine or exemption
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days
  • Drug testing (negative 9-panel within 1 year)
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year
• Required certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Competency exams including Dysrhythmia/EKG competency (pass/fail)
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing
• State license verification (primary source) and NURSYS verification for RN license
• Various facility-specific documents and agreements (code of conduct, confidentiality, health & wellness, non-employee affidavit, etc.)
• Agency badge and professional photo for badge

Additional Notes

• Candidate must prioritize compliance and meet all deadlines for credentialing and onboarding
• Shifts access granted only after clearance post-orientation
• Navy blue scrubs required

This position is ideal for MS/Tele RNs with solid telemetry experience looking for per diem work in a hospital setting with adult and geriatric patients. Prior travel experience is not required.
