Registered Nurse - CVOR

Location: Bloomington, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Floating to the main OR is required approximately 50% of the time.
  • Call requirements:
    • Every 3rd weekend
    • 2 weekday call shifts per week
    • Call begins after scheduled shift and continues until 7:00 AM the following morning
    • Must be able to respond within 30 minutes

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Indiana
  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year work/living history verification
    • National and state criminal checks
    • Sex offender registry check
    • Education verification
  • Verification of RN license through primary source within 30 days before start
  • Physical exam completed within 12 months of start date
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (strongly recommended)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Color blindness exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with minimum 100% score

  • Unit competency exam
  • Color Blind Testing

Additional Notes

  • Must complete facility-specific forms and orientation packets prior to start.
  • Floating to main OR requires comfort and readiness to work in that environment.
  • Call response time is critical.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
