Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: 1st shift, 5 days a week (8-hour shifts), rotating weekends
Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform radiologic procedures primarily in Radiology/Cardiology specialties.
- Work schedule includes rotating weekends.
- Scrub color: Grape/purple (black pants allowed with purple top).
Required Qualifications
- Valid X-Ray Technician license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of X-Ray Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification in Radiography
- High School Diploma or GED or Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or Sciences
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Proof of I9 or Attestation.
- Government issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service).
- Proof of E-Verify or Attestation.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
- Fingerprinting (BCI and FBI) completed onsite on first day of orientation.
- Education verification for CT Techs.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, updated annually.
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tdap vaccine.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually).
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccines.
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination form.
- Varicella titer or vaccines.
- 10-panel drug screen prior to start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (exemptions require documentation and approval).
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
- Employment application including 2 years prior clinical practice in acute care setting.
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists (updated annually).
- Radiation badge issued onsite for X-Ray Techs and Cath Lab Techs.
Certifications (as applicable)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Instructor or Provider required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Instructor or Provider preferred/required for some pediatric units.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA Instructor or Provider preferred/required for pediatric units.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred but not required.
- Other certifications as applicable to specialty and unit.
Additional Notes
- Facility does not accept candidates with corrective action on their license.
- Fingerprinting must be completed onsite per Ohio state law.
- DUI offenses may be acceptable; felonies generally are not.
- Travelers must complete facility-specific Hepatitis B declination form if declining vaccine.
- Flu vaccination or exemption documentation deadline is October 31 annually.
- Travelers can start assignment with pending fingerprint results.
