Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: Approximately 6 weeks (43 days)

Job Details

• School year: 2026-2027
• Work hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Multiple openings across various elementary and high school classrooms, including:

  • Early Childhood Center (Pre-K and Kindergarten multi-category classroom)
  • Resource classrooms at elementary and high school levels
  • Intellectual disabilities classroom
  • Transition classroom
• Candidates must specify which position they are interested in when applying

Required Qualifications

• Special Education Teacher with a minimum of 1 year of experience
• Experience in Special Education within the last year

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Criminal background check within 1 year of start date, including:

  • Social Security trace
  • Federal, nationwide, and county checks
  • Sex offender registry check (South Carolina State Sex Offender Registry required)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 1 year of start and updated annually
• Fingerprinting is not required, but a name-based criminal record search and sex offender registry check are mandatory
• South Carolina School Employee TB Form completed by a physician or nurse practitioner within 1 year of hire (mandatory state requirement)
• TB Questionnaire must be completed annually
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for RNs and LVNs (if applicable)
• South Carolina Mandated Reporter Training (Mandatory Reporter) required
• Educational Services State Teaching Certificate and verification required
• FERPA acknowledgment required and must be updated annually
• Various accounting and administrative documents including tax forms, direct deposit authorization, emergency contact form, arbitration agreement, and proof of name change if applicable

Health & Safety Requirements

• Negative TB or chest X-ray with SC School Employee TB Form (within 1 year)
• Physical exam only if required by client
• Drug testing only if specifically requested by client
• Seasonal flu vaccination only if required by client
• Other immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella) only if required by client

Additional Notes

• Candidates starting with teaching credential pending may be allowed with proof of application submission and internal approval
• Skills checklist required for special education teachers
• Candidates must complete all required documentation prior to start date
