Job Opportunity: Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech
Location: Estes Park, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), various days of the week
- Weekend Requirement: No
- On-call: No
- Floating: No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
- Typical Workload: Approximately 2 patients per night
- Work Environment: Independent work in the sleep lab; must be comfortable working alone
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Polysomnographer
- Polysomnographer experience within the last year
- RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Required Documentation & Compliance
- I9 or attestation
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID
- Background checks including 7-year history, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
- Health documents including:
- Physical exam within 1 year
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and titers for TDAP, TB, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Drug testing within 30 days of start and annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific exemption during flu season
- COVID vaccination proof or signed declination
- Color blind exam (Ishihara test) prior to start
- Competency exams and annual updates as required (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, OSHA, core competencies)
- References: 2 references from the last 2 years, including one from the last year, from charge RN, manager, or supervisor
- Employment history verification for the last 3 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
Additional Notes
- Staff must be independent and able to manage the sleep lab alone during shifts
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Candidates with gaps in employment or new graduates must meet full verification requirements
- Facility-specific orientation and compliance training required within the first two weeks of assignment
This position is ideal for experienced polysomnographers/sleep techs who are comfortable working independently overnight shifts and meet the certification and experience requirements.
