Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location: Mullica Hill, New Jersey
Shift: Nights (12-hour shift, approximately 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in a high-volume, fast-paced Emergency Department (ED) setting.
• Must have recent experience working in the Emergency Room environment.
• Orientation includes virtual and in-person components; completion of full orientation is mandatory.
• Badge ID must be obtained in person during orientation; photo submissions are not accepted.
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend or 3 per month depending on staffing needs.
• No holiday shifts required.
• No block scheduling or special shift requests allowed.
• Return to work (RTO) absences limited to no more than 3 days.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Travel Experience: Must have completed at least one prior travel nursing contract.
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Licensure: Valid New Jersey nursing license or Compact license.
• Certifications:

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Technical Skills: Must have experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Certifications must be current; pending or expiring within 30 days of submission are not accepted.

Compliance and Screening Requirements

• Background check, drug screen, and employment verification.
• Immunizations and health attestations including COVID-19, Influenza, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap.
• Various mandatory trainings and competency exams.
• Screening against national and state exclusion lists and sanction databases.
• Physical exam and skills checklist required.

Additional Information

• High volume and fast-paced ED experience preferred.
• Strict adherence to orientation schedule and completion of assigned modules is required.
• Virtual welcome meeting and online HealthStream modules must be completed by the first day.
• Unit-based orientation schedule provided by manager after initial training.

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room nurses with prior travel assignments who are comfortable working night shifts in a demanding environment.
