Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT)

Location: Oneonta, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

Seeking a skilled and independent Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform laboratory tests across multiple departments including Blood Bank, Microbiology, Hematology, Coagulation, and Chemistry. The role requires working with minimal supervision while supporting the team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Blood Bank: Perform ABO typing, antibody screening, and compatibility testing using manual and automated methods.
  • Microbiology: Use Abbott ID Now analyzers for COVID-19, Strep, Influenza, and RSV testing; experience with Phadia 250 for allergy and autoimmune disease testing.
  • Hematology: Operate Sysmex XN 550 and XN350 analyzers for hematological testing.
  • Coagulation: Operate ACL TOP 350 for coagulation testing.
  • Chemistry: Use Beckman AU480 and Access2 analyzers for chemistry testing; operate urinalysis analyzer AX-4030 and Iris DxU 480.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Laboratory Technician license in New York.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Laboratory Technician experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency in Blood Bank testing including ABO typing, antibody screening, and compatibility testing.
  • Experience in Microbiology testing such as COVID-19, Strep, Influenza, and RSV testing.
  • Experience with allergy and autoimmune disease testing.

Shifts & Scheduling

  • 8-hour day shifts, Monday to Friday.
  • Immediate availability preferred.

Onboarding Requirements

Candidates must complete the following prior to or during onboarding:

  • Core competencies and skills checklists relevant to the role.
  • Health screenings and immunizations including MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB test, Varicella, Fit Test, and physical/health statement.
  • Professional verifications including background checks, employment and education verification, professional references, and drug screening.
  • Completion of security credentials and confidentiality agreements.
