Registered Nurse (Hospice RN) - Nebraska, Hastings

Position Overview

• Provide hospice palliative care to assigned clients in a safe, caring, and efficient manner.
• Perform initial and ongoing client assessments; participate in creation and implementation of individualized plans of care.
• Coordinate services with interdisciplinary teams and involve clients and families in care planning.
• Recognize cultural attitudes toward death and dying; understand grief processes and their impact on families.
• Complete required documentation and quality assurance audits within appropriate timeframes.
• Participate in agency in-services, educational opportunities, team meetings, and community outreach activities.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, seeking guidance as needed.

Work Schedule & Hours

• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Day shift, 8-10 hour shifts.
• Typically 4 days per week, 40 hours weekly.
• Flexible daytime hours based on patient visit scheduling.
• Rotated on-call night coverage 1-2 times per week.
• Every 3rd weekend on call (subject to change).
• 32 guaranteed weekly hours.
• Work week runs Sunday through Saturday.

Travel & Transportation

• Employees use their own vehicles to travel to patient homes and facilities.
• Mileage reimbursement provided (rate not included here).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nebraska.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 2 years hospice nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

• No charge differential or call back available.
• A fee applies if the clinician resigns with less than 14 days’ notice.
• Housing options may be available but local rates apply.
