Nurse Manager Psych Adult In-Patient Unit at BronxCare Health System
Responsible for overseeing an adult patient unit within the psychiatric field
8 Franklin is a 27-bed adult (18 and above) acute in-patient psychiatric unit
Patients admitted from CPEP or Concourse ER, 24 to 72 hours from initial presentation once medically cleared
Patient diagnoses include Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorders, Dual Diagnosis (Mental Illness with Chemical Abuse), Autism Spectrum/Intellectual Disabilities, and Personality Disorders
Model of care is a multi-disciplinary team approach with pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy
Promote mission, vision, and values of the organization
Assess patient care requirements by making rounds in all patient care units
Develop and implement staffing plans based on patient acuity, census, and available staff
Serve as a resource to staff for clinical problem solving
Assist staff in efficient utilization of staffing resources
Respond to emergency situations and assist as necessary
Act as a resource in identifying and solving administrative/operational problems
Work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary staff to solve problems fairly and consistently

Job requirements

New York State Registered Nurse License required
BLS from American Heart Association required
Minimum of three years of recent acute care RN experience required
Leadership experience required
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
Progressive leadership demonstrated in a leadership position or potential for leadership competency
Ability to develop, guide, motivate, nurture, and coach others
Membership in pertinent professional organizations
