Job Opportunity: IR Technologist (Interventional Radiology)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Job Description & Duties

• Prepare procedure suites and ensure radiation safety setup
• Calibrate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and hemodynamics monitoring equipment
• Pull supplies, set up sterile tables
• Scrub in and assist physicians with procedures including device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon and stent deployment
• Manage radiation dose and imaging angles
• Clean, restock, and turnover procedure rooms
• Perform sheath removals

Typical Procedures & Patient Types

• IR procedures: Port placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, G-tube placements, PICC & Central Line placements
• Neuro procedures: Coiling, thrombectomy, embolizations (with anesthesia support)
• Vascular procedures: Femoral-popliteal bypass, AAA repair, carotid interventions, EVAR, angiograms, and more

Work Environment

• 7 procedure rooms total (4 Cath Lab/EP & 3 IR/Vascular)
• Average 20+ cases per day across all rooms
• EMR systems: Merge, Cerner
• Equipment: Siemens imaging systems

Staffing & Team

• IR team: 1 RN, 2 Techs, anesthesia support for neuro cases
• Cath Lab: 1 RN, 3 Techs
• EP team: 3-4 person team
• STEMI call team: 1 RN, 3 Techs

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Standard shifts: 4 ten-hour days per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with rotating day off
• Alternative schedule considered: 5 eight-hour days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Call rotation: Approximately every 3rd weekday and every 3rd weekend (Friday through Monday)
• Holiday call may be required
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Orientation: 2-3 full days of training/shadowing, buddy call first week, then solo call

Additional Information

• Hybrid floating for vascular cases
• Scrubs provided; personal scrub caps allowed
• Clinicians must clock in/out at the facility
• Previous employment with the facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
