Schedule

  • Nights, 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week guaranteed
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend
  • Holiday coverage: as needed to meet unit needs

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • 1 year of unit experience
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • Driver’s license required at submittal

Unit Details

  • 33 beds
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5
  • RNs are required to titrate drips
  • RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Charge nurse is on each shift and takes an assignment
  • CNAs are available
  • Common respiratory support on the unit includes BiPAP and Airvo

Floating

  • May float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care

Orientation

  • First week classroom orientation, followed by 2 to 12-hour shifts on the floor

Work Environment

  • Busy patient flow with frequent admissions and discharges
  • Strong teamwork, positive attitude, bedside report, and hourly rounding are emphasized

Additional Requirements

  • RTO must be submitted upfront
  • No additional RTO will be approved after submission
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
  • Travelers must pass an open-book exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher
