Overview

• Role: Travel Physical Therapy Assistant
• Setting: Home Health
• Schedule: 8 hour days, 40 hours a week
• Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
• On call/weekends: No
• Coverage areas: Adams, Allen, Dekalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells, Whitley
• Productivity expectation: 30 points
• Mileage reimbursement: Yes, between visits from first patient to last patient
• Dress code: Any color scrubs
• Contract length: 12 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Indiana
• BLS
• Bachelor's degree
• Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care
• Follow the treatment set only as defined by the supervising PT
• Perform only procedures the assistant is qualified and trained to perform
• Make recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training
• Observe, record, and report patient response to treatment and changes in condition
• Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team as appropriate
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members within the scope of the physical therapy assistant
