Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist

Location: Danbury, Connecticut
Employment Type: Traveler - Backfill
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform film screen and/or digital mammography exams.
• Collect thorough patient history and clinical information to assist Radiologists.
• Obtain patient history, prior films/reports, and other relevant information.
• Perform Quality Control (QC) procedures required by FDA/ACR.
• Provide imaging support to other modalities such as X-ray and bone density (DEXA).
• Manage mammogram result and reminder communications.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a State-approved Mammography program.
• ARRT Mammography (M) and Radiography (R) certifications required.
• Valid Connecticut Radiology license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Basic computer application knowledge.
• Valid state driver's license as applicable.
• COVID-19 vaccination required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and repetitive hand/arm/leg movements.
• Ability to see, speak, and hear to communicate effectively with patients.
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing.
• Ability to carry and lift, including moving non-ambulatory patients for transfers or exams.
• Potential exposure to blood/body fluids, infectious diseases, and strong magnetic fields.

Additional Notes

• Experience in Mammography, X-Ray, and DEXA modalities is required.
• Candidates must hold all required certifications and licenses before assignment.
• Awareness of travel time between locations is necessary.

Experience

• Specialty experience: Mammography (minimum 1 year or as per highest requirement implied by certifications and program completion).
