Registered Nurse (Surgery) - Travel Position

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provides independent nursing care in a similar clinical setting, managing routine and complex patient care.
Develops skills to handle clinical contingencies and makes appropriate assignments and delegations to other care providers.
Meets professional nursing competencies including leadership and clinical standards.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess patient and caregiver learning needs and provide education accordingly.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
Operating Room (OR) experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements

Weekend and on-call availability required.

This position offers an opportunity to work full-time in a surgical nursing role with a defined shift and a 13-week travel contract.
