Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Kennewick, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Position: Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Call Requirement: None
  • Unit: Medical ICU (14 beds)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:2 (charge nurse free of patients)
  • Patient Population: Medical ICU patients including sepsis, respiratory issues, some cardiac and trauma cases
  • Equipment: Occasional use of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Paragon

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
  • Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), Washington Suicide Prevention
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

  • No block schedules
  • Orientation/New Employee Onboarding dates available throughout the year

Pros

This Cath Lab is only travelers at the moment and has locum doctors on rotation. Some days are very slow but there is also a couple IR doctors who does some easy procedures.

Cons

On call is currently 7 consecutive days on then you get 4 days off before going back on due to number of staff present.
