Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel assignment in Waukesha, Wisconsin
• 13-week contract
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 12-hour nights
• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation

Unit

• 4E Med/Surg - Clinical Decision Unit
• 15 beds
• Level III
• Primary Stroke Center

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience
• Short-term acute care hospital experience
• BLS
• NIHSS
• Wisconsin or Compact RN license
• Must be able to read telemetry
• Current EPIC charting experience within the last 12 months
• Covid-19 vaccine required unless a medical or religious exemption applies

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 traveler contract completed
• Cardiology background

Float Scope

• May float to Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and other like units as needed
• May be required to float to units and facilities based on census
• Should not be asked to work outside clinical skills unless approved by the employee, unit manager, shift advisor, and SimpliFi

Clinical Skills / Experience

• Tele interpretation
• IV placement
• CBI
• Wound care
• Heparin gtt
• Lasix gtt
• Caths with no interventions
• TR bands
• NG tube placement
• Time management for assessment-heavy workflow, including post-cath and stroke assessments

Patient Population

• DM
• CHF
• DT
• Falls with minimal injury
• Stroke rule-out
• Chest pain
• PNA
• General weakness
• Primarily Med-Surg and day surgery patients
• ER admits
• Prostatectomy
• Lab Appy
• Lap Chloe
• CBI
