Overview

• Clinical nursing role in the Clinical Resource Unit (float pool)
• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Unit / Float Scope

• Floats to multiple inpatient units, including:

  • Medical-Oncology
  • Surgical-Ortho
  • Cardiovascular Care Unit
  • Progressive Care Unit
  • Mental Health Unit
  • Acute Rehab

Required Qualifications

• Ability to float to multiple units and provide care to diverse patient populations
• Ability to manage care for both acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
• Ability to develop, implement, and modify patient care plans
• Skill in medication administration and evaluating medication effects
• Skill in preparing patients for procedures and managing post-operative care
• Skill in IV venipuncture and blood administration
• Ability to document care accurately using EMR
• Ability to educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and assist in professional development of peers
• Ability to handle conflict management and maintain professional communication with team members
• Skill in critical thinking to assess patient status and take appropriate action
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
• Ability to prioritize patient safety and adhere to safety standards including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and ambulation safety
• Ability to complete patient bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain updated patient communication boards
• Ability to delegate appropriately and follow up on delegated tasks
• College diploma of nursing
• BLS (AHA)
• IL Nursing License
