Job Summary

Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients using the nursing process.
Utilize nursing trends, technology, and resources within institutional philosophy.
Responsible for patient and employee safety, documentation, and communication.
Participate in professional development and maintain departmental competencies.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

Care for inpatient obstetric patients.
Monitor fetal well-being.
Administer medications specific to obstetric care.
Provide patient education tailored to the obstetric population.
Participate in intrapartum care, including labor, delivery, and surgical delivery of newborns.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS certification
NRP certification
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Information

Focus on nursing process, patient assessment, plan of care development, nursing interventions, safety reporting, and documentation.
