Interventional Technologist I
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Clinical Technician
Contract Length: 13 weeks (option for 13 or 26 weeks available)
Shift: 4x10-hour shifts per week, call as needed with rotating day off
Job Summary
Assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions without surgery. Procedures include cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization, and pain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist providers during procedures, acting as a scrub tech and maintaining a sterile field.
- Prepare patients for procedures and provide comfort.
- Operate specialized radiologic equipment and perform diagnostic, interventional, and invasive procedures.
- Ensure safety and quality standards are met throughout procedures.
- Transfer images and data to electronic health systems and document technical findings.
- Perform quality control, equipment cleaning, and maintenance.
- Participate in quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement activities.
- Provide on-call clinical coverage on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
- Support academic partnerships by teaching students and mentoring new or less experienced team members.
- Assist with onboarding new staff.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Oklahoma
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Graduation from a post-secondary health science educational program, such as cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, or paramedic/EMT, as defined by ARRT or CCI
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Additional Information
- Work schedule consists of 4 ten-hour shifts per week (40 hours total).
- Call coverage is required on a rotating basis.
- Contract lengths available are 13 or 26 weeks.
