Registered Nurse - Med/Surg

Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Acute Nursing
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
Provide direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients.
Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications.
Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed; interpret and record measurements.
Monitor patients' vitals and report adverse reactions to medications promptly.
Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records.
Adhere to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.

Required Qualifications

Experience

Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience, including experience within the last year.
Experience in both Acute Care and Post Acute care settings.
Skilled in post-operative care.

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institute.

Certifications & Licensure

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State with Primary Source Verification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
