Occupational Therapist
Location: Riverside, California
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 17 weeks
Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for coordinating and providing restorative and rehabilitative Occupational Therapy services to participants both at the center and in their homes. This role involves working closely with physicians, rehabilitation staff, and interdisciplinary team members to maximize participant independence and safety, and to enhance performance of activities of daily living (ADLs).
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting Occupational Therapy assessments to determine care needs, preferences, and goals.
- Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop participant care plans.
- Delivering and documenting Occupational Therapy interventions according to physician orders and care plans.
- Supervising Therapy Assistants, including training and guidance for Functional Maintenance Programs (FMP).
- Providing training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers.
- Managing equipment ordering, tracking, and maintenance.
- Monitoring participant condition and updating the care team as needed.
- Supporting smooth care transitions between settings (e.g., hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home).
- Participating in end-of-life care coordination and support.
- Managing direct reports through training, supervision, and mentoring.
- Completing all required documentation and mandated trainings timely and accurately.
- Maintaining confidentiality and following organizational policies and quality improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Minimum of 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience, including experience within the last year
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Experience working with geriatric patients
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members
- Experience leading in a data-driven organization, leveraging reports and data to prioritize and manage people and projects
- Experience and competency working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
