Job Summary

The Echo Technologist is responsible for overseeing technical procedures, patient care, and workflows in the echocardiography laboratory. This role involves performing a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing and assisting physicians and sonographers to provide high-quality echocardiographic exams.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.
Ensure imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
Accurately document all procedures and findings.
Cross-train in other divisions of Cardiovascular Services.
Administer contrast agents when needed and not contraindicated.
Complete documentation of studies and charges in Epic and preliminary information in the Xcelera system for physician review.
Participate in a rotation of on-call duties during the week and weekends.
Provide compassionate care and quality studies to patients.
Perform all forms of Echo testing, including Exercise Stress, Dobutamine Stress, Pediatric Echoes, and Transesophageal Echoes in a timely manner.
Continuously seek to advance knowledge in all aspects of echocardiography with openness to learning and teaching.
