Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
Location: Coos Bay, Oregon

Job Summary
Provide nursing care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process to patient care, teaching patients and their families, documenting care in the medical record, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Acute care hospital experience
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Certifications (to obtain within specified timeframes if not currently held)
- SAFE class or approved workplace violence training (within 6 months of hire)
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (within 6 months of hire)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurses’ Association Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (within 1 year of hire)
- Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) (within 1 year of hire)
- National certification in emergency nursing (CEN or equivalent) preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication in English
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to prioritize and adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs
- Effective teaching skills
- Ability to respond effectively to patient crises and emergency situations
- Proficiency with computers, including electronic medical record documentation
- Consistent punctual attendance
