Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job – Columbus, Ohio
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Hours: 8.5 hours per day with a 30-minute lunch break (40 hours per week)
- Holiday Weeks: 10-hour shifts to maintain 40 guaranteed hours
- On-Call: No
- Weekends: No
- Dress Code: Scrubs (black pants, any top)
- Onboarding Week: First week 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM for onboarding
- Time Off Restrictions: No return to office (RTO) in June or July
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Ohio
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology
- ACLS (American Heart Association Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable)
- BLS (American Heart Association Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if driving is required
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start using specific Ohio codes; must be completed prior to start
- Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
- High school diploma or GED verification required
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
- TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test renewal
- Adult Tdap vaccination (not Td or DTaP) required; exemptions not allowed for those working with infants or pregnant patients
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella; boosters required if low titer and no proof of vaccines
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer required unless medically exempted with documentation
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination acceptable
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); mask required if declining
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Additional Requirements
- Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code and hand hygiene policy
- Annual completion of fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate prior to start
- Annual acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies for new contracts
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually
Competency Exams
- Unit-specific competency exam required
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required prior to start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%)

Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
