Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job – Columbus, Ohio

Position Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Hours: 8.5 hours per day with a 30-minute lunch break (40 hours per week)
• Holiday Weeks: 10-hour shifts to maintain 40 guaranteed hours
• On-Call: No
• Weekends: No
• Dress Code: Scrubs (black pants, any top)
• Onboarding Week: First week 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM for onboarding
• Time Off Restrictions: No return to office (RTO) in June or July

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiation Therapist license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology
• ACLS (American Heart Association Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable)
• BLS (American Heart Association Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if driving is required
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start using specific Ohio codes; must be completed prior to start
• Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
• High school diploma or GED verification required
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
• TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test renewal
• Adult Tdap vaccination (not Td or DTaP) required; exemptions not allowed for those working with infants or pregnant patients
• 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella; boosters required if low titer and no proof of vaccines
• 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer required unless medically exempted with documentation
• Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination acceptable
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); mask required if declining
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Requirements

• Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code and hand hygiene policy
• Annual completion of fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate prior to start
• Annual acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies for new contracts
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually

Competency Exams

• Unit-specific competency exam required
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required prior to start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%)
