Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry Nights
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: Must float within scope to like units as needed
- Block Scheduling: Open to accommodation
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must be outside a 50-mile radius from the main campus)
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; all contracted shifts beyond that are guaranteed
- Return Staff Policy: Must be off assignment for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (one extension allowed), then must be off for 6 months before returning
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Background and Health Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 6 months prior to start; includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; updated annually
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (specific substances required)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years; no declinations accepted)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella – titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Hepatitis B – vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- Flu Vaccine – required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); medical or religious exemptions require facility approval
- TB Screening: Negative PPD, Q Gold, or T-spot within 1 year; chest X-ray required if positive PPD (not older than 5 years)

- Facility Type: Short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
- Total Staffed Beds: 733
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Colors: Royal blue and white
- Orientation: Majority of the first day is orientation; report time 6:30 AM on Monday at Human Resources
- Photo for Badge: Professional passport-style photo required (no large earrings, face piercings, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless religious)

- Facility requires acknowledgment of pass/fail testing and competency exams as part of onboarding
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
- Candidates must be willing to float between similar units within their scope of practice.
- Background convictions within the last year or active cases will disqualify candidates.
- Flu vaccine declinations are not accepted unless approved by the facility with proper exemption documentation.
