Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Ortho

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 48 hours


Job Description

  • Medical Surgical Orthopedics specialty with Level I Trauma experience required
  • Team nursing ratios (discuss specifics with manager during interview)
  • On-call and weekend shifts as needed (no weekend block scheduling, but weekend block may be considered)
  • No local candidates accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
  • First-time travelers not accepted; prior travel experience required
  • Large hospital experience required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Tennessee
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • One completed travel nursing assignment
  • Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
  • Orthopedics experience
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements

  • Must submit all requested time-off (RTO) at time of application; late submissions handled directly with manager/scheduler
  • Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, recent within 6 months)
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
  • Completion of facility-specific questionnaires and submission packets as required
  • Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year, with no facial hair interfering with mask seal
  • Competency exams and core training modules must be current (within 1 year) and updated annually as applicable
