Job Details

• Shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (36 hours/week)
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Patient Ratios: Not specified
• Floating: May be required to float to other units
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required

Experience Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Prior Travel Experience: Preferred but not required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• NCC C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced certification

Skills Required

• IV start skills
• Labor & Delivery experience

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start (including FBI and BCI fingerprinting)
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
• Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
• State license verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate (must be completed prior to start and updated annually)
• Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
• Unit-specific competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (EKG exam required annually)
• Skills checklist required
• Employment application and 2 professional references (at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership)

Additional Notes

• Fingerprinting must be completed using specific Ohio BCI & FBI codes and within 1 year of start date. New fingerprinting required if there is a break in service of 90+ days or if previous results are older than 1 year.
• Candidates may renew BLS and ACLS certifications at the facility if needed.
• Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Candidates must be prepared to comply with all background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific policies.
